The memorial on Fond du Lac Avenue now awaits the arrival of the steel beam “recovered from the North Tower of the World Trade Center as its center piece, the memorial will serve to honor not only those who perished, including a Kewaskum Graduate – Andrea Lyn Haberman, but also all those who responded to the atrocity of 9/11.”

9/11 Memorial Highway expected to be signed by governor

Assembly Rep. Tim Ramthun’s proposal for the 9/11 Memorial Highway is closer to fruition.

Assembly Bill 451, better known as the ‘Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway Bill’, will receive a floor vote.

This bill is just a formal procedure for a community movement that has been going on for over a decade to memorialize innocent lives lost on 9/11, the heroic actions of both first responders and ordinary people, and those who continue to be impacted by those events to this day.

The bill passed unanimously out of the Senate on Tuesday, and it is expected to receive unanimous support in the Assembly as well.

Following that Governor Evers will sign this bipartisan legislation into law.

Gov. Evers is scheduled to attend a ribbon cutting in Kewaskum on October 31 at noon.
