September 10, 2019 – The first volleyball match for UWM at Washington County was a non-conference match against MATC – Milwaukee.
The Wildcats struggled through the first two sets losing 25-16 and 25-8. The amount of errors were due to a lack of communication. The third set the team found its footing, fixed the communication problem and came back to win 25-16.
The fourth set both teams played considerably better but MATC – Milwaukee ended up winning the match with a final score of 25-19.
Leading the team was Kayla Boehm, returning middle hitter, with 10 kills and 12 block. Morgan Kappler, returning outside hitter, had 8 kills and 19 digs, returning setter Caryn Hamm had 28 assists for kills, and Heather Pokorski had 46 digs.
The next match for UWM-Washington County is on Monday, Sept. 23 at home starting at 6 p.m. against UW-Oshkosh – Fox Cities.
