August 22, 2019 – Kewaskum, WI – High school girls from Kettle Moraine Lutheran (KML), Winneconne, West Bend, and Kewaskum/Campbellsport gathered for a varsity quad golf match.
The match took place at Hon-E-Kor in Kewaskum. The teams played the red and white nines with par at 71. The weather was ideal, clouds provided relief from the hot sun and a slight breeze cooled things down without affecting the ball. The course was in good conditions and fast, turtle-back greens tested the players.
Kewaskum/Campbellsport took first with a score of 441. West Bend followed with a score of 463. KML took third with a score of 484 and Winneconne finished with a 489.
For KML, Megan Himm shot a 94. Abby Shambeau shot a 120. Maddie Lechmaier was close behind with a 125. Emmi Lechmaier and Addy Wendt both shot a 145.
Himm took second individually, behind Campbellsport’s Alyssa Dreher, who shot an impressive 86. Both golfers are left-handed.
KML’s next match is a six-hole Junior Varsity match at Washington County against Slinger on Aug. 27. The next Varsity match will take place Aug. 31 at Johnson Park Golf Course in Racine.
