July 19, 2019 – Washington County, WI – Reconstruction of County Trunk Highway K from State Trunk Highway 175 to I-41 is to be opened to regular traffic by 5:00 p.m. today, Friday, July 19.
The second phase of construction – Main Street/Turtle Road to STH 175 – will start on Monday, July 22, 2019.
Please use the posted detour to navigate around the construction site. Law enforcement will be monitoring the area.
The Washington County Highway Department thanks you for your patience and understanding as we strive to provide a safe public transportation network that is well-maintained, accessible and enhances safe traffic flow and mobility. We also thank Michels Corporation, the site contractor, for the effort they put in to complete this phase of the project a month ahead of schedule.
This project included the addition of turn, acceleration, and deceleration lanes, as well as minor vertical alignments to improve sight distances. Please stay alert for these new traffic patterns.
