June 27, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in West Bend received a donation from a Greater Milwaukee Synod ELCA church to fund the addition of six chicken coops for a cooperative in El Salvador.
Our Savior’s and the West Bend Sunrise Rotary have been supporting this women’s empowerment project since 2013, which benefits 30 families. Six more coops are still needed for more women in the community.

In January 2019 the Slindes visited El Salvador and listened to the success stories of women and how their chicken coops and raising chickens helped them create a profitable business for their families.
