April 26, 2019 – West Bend, WI – A bit of excitement on S. Sixth Avenue early Friday morning as firefighters staged outside West Bend Community Memorial Library, 630 Poplar Ave., following a call at 5:30 a.m.
A pair of fire trucks, West Bend Fire Command and West Bend Police were all on scene along with library staff and library director Amy Becker. Turns out it was a false alarm but one neighbor said “there were enough sirens this early morning to wake the chickens.”
Library staff will be checking the sprinkler alarm system later today.
The scene was cleared by 6 a.m.
