Modern Woodmen and members contributed more than $2.6 million to Southeast Wisconsin in 2018

April 11, 2019 – Washington Co., WI – Organizations and residents in Southeast Wisconsin benefited from $2,622,331.14 in fraternal contributions from Modern Woodmen of America, its members and local community partnerships in 2018, according to recently released year-end results from the fraternal financial services organization.

These dollars support social, educational, volunteer and fundraising activities in the region.

The contribution includes $2,141,764.38 raised by local Modern Woodmen chapters and youth service clubs partnering with community groups. For qualifying events, Modern Woodmen’s home office matched up to $2,500 annually for each chapter and $500 for each youth club.

 

“Giving back is in Modern Woodmen’s DNA,” says Daniel L. Lawrence, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Modern Woodmen regional director. “As members of a fraternal organization, we help each other – and our community.”

 

Modern Woodmen members in the area are part of:

 

  • 72 chapters.
  • 9 Summit chapters (for members age 55 and over).
  • 18 youth service clubs.

 

These members plan and participate in projects that support community needs. In 2018, local Modern Woodmen members spent a total of 18,980 hours volunteering in Southeast Wisconsin.

 

Additionally, Modern Woodmen’s financial representatives in Southeast Wisconsin donated $5,975.75 worth of free youth educational programs to local schools and youth organizations, educating 11,988 children about topics like financial literacy, nutrition, ecology and public speaking.

 

Lawrence is proud of Modern Woodmen’s focus on supporting members, their communities and the causes they care about.
