Neighboring Dodge County halts tow truck assistance until weather improves | By Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt

Feb. 24, 2019 – Dodge Co., WI – The Dodge County Sheriff Department has pulled its tow trucks from the road this Sunday afternoon due to the high winds and extremely slippery conditions.

The Sheriffs Office made the decision along with the Wisconsin State Patrol. Unless it is a traffic hazard, no tow trucks will be called out to remove cars from the ditch until the weather improves. It is simply too dangerous for tow truck drivers to work and for deputies and troopers to remain on the side of the road any longer than absolutely necessary.

Sergeant Dennis Walston stated roads are snow covered, slippery and dangerous. This photo is immediately following a plow going through. If you can stay home today, that would be a good idea.

“Please, if you need to travel today, DRIVE REALLY SLOW and please drive extra slow and careful around stopped emergency vehicles on the side of the road. Your best option is to stay home today,” said Dodge Co. Sheriff’s Office.
