Obituary | Kathleen ‘Connie’ Rose Grasse, 92, of Port Washington formerly Hartford

Feb. 12, 2019 – Port Washington, WI – Kathleen Rose Grasse (nee Best), “Connie”, 92, of Port Washington, Wisconsin (formerly Hartford), passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon, WI, with her loving family by her side.

Connie was born July 17, 1926 in Random Lake, WI to Clara (nee Pierron) and Edward Best. She was united in marriage to Ruben Grasse on October 11, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. She worked for Power Products in Grafton for many years. She was a long-time member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford and Hartford Senior Friends. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a card club with friends from high school. She also enjoyed knitting, painting, and outdoor landscaping including: sweeping, shoveling, cutting grass and pulling weeds.

Connie is survived by her children, Karen (Jack) Brooks of Jackson, Peggy (Edward) Morrow of Little Chute, Sandra Grasse of West Bend, and Geri (Todd) Davis of Hartford; 9 cherished grandchildren, 18 cherished great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild joyously expected in April; and dear sister, Darleen Glander of Port Washington.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Clara Best; parents-in-law, Gustave and Eleanore (nee Doegnitz, formerly Hames) Grasse; her beloved husband of 26 years, Ruben Grasse; siblings-in-law; and great-grandson, Zachary.

Connie will be inurned at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington.

In memory of Connie, memorial contributions to St. Kilian Catholic Church for Masses in her name are sincerely appreciated.

Connie’s family would like to share their sincere gratitude with: Horizon Hospice nursing staff (especially Megan and Melinda); dear neighbor and friend, Laurie; and Connie’s granddaughters, Tonja, Madelyne, and Amber, for the wonderful and personal care they provided during this difficult time. Your kindness will always be remembered.
