Germantown police squad struck on Hwy 145

Jan. 29, 2019 – Washington Co., WI – The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an accident that occurred at 8:29 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 on Fond du Lac Avenue and County Line Road in Germantown.

According to Sheriff Marty Schulteis a Germantown Police Officer’s marked squad was parked on the side of the road in the southbound lane checking on several vehicles in the ditch when a vehicle southbound on Highway 145 hit the squad.

The driver who struck the squad was a 19-year-old female from Germantown.

The Sheriff said both the officer and woman suffered minor injuries.

There’s no information yet whether the weather was a factor in the accident.

More details on the accident will be posted as information becomes available.

 

Other road updates across Washington County in the last 24 hours:

-Sheriff Schulteis said the wind is starting to pick up Tuesday afternoon and there is a lot of north-south drifting in the northern half of the county.

-The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is assigning squads to major interstates.

-In the last 24 hours there have been nine vehicles in the ditch in Washington County and eight property-damage accidents.
