West Bend man charged in fatal on Highway 33

Ryan M. Muth, 34, of West Bend has been charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle in connection with an accident March 6 on Highway 33.

That accident closed a portion of the highway for several hours as emergency crews responded to a vehicle, driven by Muth, that crossed the centerline, struck another car killing the driver.  That driver was later identified as 55-year-old Tammy Lea Kempf of Manawa.

The criminal complaint indicates Muth had six drinks starting at 10 a.m.

Records show Muth also had a pair of prior drunk driving convictions in 2006 and 2009.
