Kewaskum High School senior linebacker Ben Watzig has been selected to play in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Game on July 16 at UW Oshkosh.

Watzig is a member of the North Large School team, representing schools from divisions 1, 2, and 3.

KHS head football coach Jason Piittmann will also be a part of the game this year, as a member of the North coaching staff.

Both Watzig and Coach Piittmann are tasked with raising funds for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Last year the WFCA All-Star players and coaches raised over $500,000 for Children’s Hospital.

Those interested in donating can go to www.chw.org/wfca and find information to make a general donation or to make a donation in the name of either Ben Watzig or Coach Piittmann.

Both Watzig and Piittmann will spend the entire week prior to the July 16 game at UW Oshkosh preparing for the game, with multiple practices each day, some fun activities, and a chance to meet with kids from Children’s Hospital.

Watzig joins a list of Kewaskum players dating back to 1984, when the game was sponsored by the Shriners Hospital for Children. Previous KHS athletes to play in the game are:
Jim Braun – 1984
Beau Coulter – 1994

TJ Schlice – 2011
