Dec. 18, 2018 – West Bend, WI – David “Dave” G. Bastian, 87, of West Bend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at his home.
He was born on April 24, 1931 to the late Elmer and Linda (nee Binder) Bastian in West Bend. He graduated from West Bend High School in 1949. Dave honorably served in the United States Navy for 4 years. He owned the Beer Bar in Boulder Junction for 8 years before owning the Lynn Ann’s campgrounds in St. Germain for 32 years. Dave liked the outdoors and fishing. He was a life long member of the Moose Lodge in West Bend and a member of the VFW in Boulder Junction.
Those Dave leaves behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Heather (Mike) Davidson; two grandchildren, Corin (Kelsey) Ferris and Spencer Davidson; one sister, Virginia Warner; long-time companion, Marge Schrauth; Marge’s daughter, Erika Schrauth and Erika’s daughter, Marlia King; Marge’s son, Kevin (Jen) Schrauth and their children, Brady, Ellison, and Addison; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Roy Warner.
A memorial service in remembrance of Dave will be on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, WI 53095.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
RIP Dave, will miss the summers at the campgrounds and all the memories of you and my mom and dad. Grew up knowing you visiting your sister next door. You will be missed.
