Obit: Theodore Amundson “Ted” Ray, 80, of Jackson

Oct. 8, 2018 – Jackson, WI – Theodore Amundson “Ted” Ray, 80, of Jackson, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Froedtert Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Ted was born on November 25, 1937 in Milwaukee to the late Charles and Viola (nee Amundson) Ray.  Following his high school graduation, Ted enlisted in the Naval Reserve which he served in from 1955 until 1964.  During that time he also earned a BA in Business from Milton College.  On June 12, 1971, Ted was united in marriage to the love of his life, Carole Jaeck, at Christ Episcopal Church in Whitefish Bay.

Ted enjoyed a long career as an insurance adjuster for Crawford & Company before his retirement in 1999.  His servant heart led him to be a bell ringer for the Salvation Army for many years and in recent years he served as a crossing guard in West Bend.  Ted was an avid golfer and even shot a hole in one.  He loved spending summers with family and friends at his lake cottage in Eagle River.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Those Ted leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Carole; two children, Meredith (Rob) Jorgensen and Doug (Isabella) Ray; three grandchildren, Jessica and Evan Jorgensen and Christopher Ray; a sister, Marion “Pee Wee” and the late Timothy Harrington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard (Lynn) Jaeck, James (Jean) Jaeck, and Denise (Lawrence) Koch; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service in remembrance of Ted will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St. West Bend, WI 53095).  Pastor Ryan LaTour will officiate and burial of Ted’s cremated remains will be in Forest Home Cemetery.  The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.

Memorials to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Ted’s arrangements.
