Sept. 18, 2018 – Hartford, WI – Hartford Union High School District (HUHS) Superintendent, Attila J. Weninger, Ph.D., will retire his position effective June 30, 2019.
The HUHS Board of Education accepted and approved his letter of resignation/retirement at its Regular Monday, September 17, 2018 Board meeting and as part of the Consent Agenda.
“By June, I will have worked for 8 of the last 9 years in WI, traveling home on weekends or when time allowed. It’s time to return to family,” Weninger said.
The end of June will mark Weninger’s third year as Superintendent of HUHS.
“While my tenure in the District was relatively brief, it was exceptionally rewarding, personally and professionally. I will continue to fulfill my duties and serve the District with the same enthusiasm, advocacy, and belief in our District, as I have from the beginning.” Weninger added, “We’ve accomplished a great deal in a little over 2 years, and this year, we will focus on making substantial progress in achieving the Strategic Plan: Create Our Future: 2020.”
“We have a dedicated staff, supportive Board, parents, and community. In addition, and as I have often stated, our greatest assets – students – are the most engaging, caring, dedicated, and resilient students I have encountered in my 46 year career. I will miss them the most,” said Weninger.
The HUHS Board of Education has begun the search for a new superintendent and will engage the services of School Exec Connect, a national search firm, utilizing Wisconsin recruiters. More information about the selection process will be forthcoming from the District in early October.
