Smokin Ink, 162 S. Fifth Avenue, is expected to open early next week after it got the green light Tuesday at the West Bend Plan Commission meeting.
It’s been a bit of a long road for the corner tattoo and body piercing establishment. Last month the Common Council twice denied shop owner Travis Nyholm a conditional use permit after some questions came up during a background check.
During this week’s meeting the Plan Commission approved a conditional use permit for Christina Sergeant.
“This is exciting and a lot to take in but I’m excited for it,” she said. “New shop, new area, new clients – I can’t wait to open.”
Smokin Ink is in the corner storefront at Walnut and Fifth Avenue; that location was previously home to Hometown Talents & Treasures, John’s Photography on Main and Mehring’s Fish Market.
