Here Come the Mummies performs tonight at Summer Sounds Concert Series in Cedarburg | By David Keup

 

August 10, 2018 – Cedarburg, WI – Nashville, TN novelty funk band Here Come the Mummies will slow-walk on to the band shell stage at Cedar Creek Park in Cedarburg tonight for a dazzling performance as part of the Summer Sounds concert series.

 

With band member names like Mummy Cass, Eddie Mummy, Spazzy Mummy, KW Tut, Mummy Rah and others, this secretive band with several professional musicians are actually dressed up in mummy-like bandages while performing live.

 

Unconfirmed industry rumors, according to Wikipedia, say band members consist of several past Grammy award winners trying to keep their identity private in order to prevent contract disputes.

 

Whatever the case Friday evening’s concert will be part of a fast-moving, fun and relaxing environment.

 

How is it a highly popular, national touring band like Here Come the Mummies  willperform in a small city like Cedarburg?

Summer Sounds co-president Sue Schrader, said she saw the band perform at a few festivals and thought the Summer Sounds audience would love them.

 

“This year the bands tour schedule worked out, so we are happy they are coming,” Schrader said. “We hope people will get out there, dance and have fun!”

 

Aside from funk, the band performs some rock, blues and hard rock tunes. The band’s song “Dirty Minds” has been played on television shows “Scrubs,” “The Loop” and “Big Shots.”

 

Coming off their performance  on the Main Stage at the Wisconsin State Fair on Aug. 3, Here Come the Mummies’ recent videos “Midnight Mummies” and “It’s Showtime!” are quickly moving up the Billboard Records Chart.
