Obit: Ellen E. Ziegert, 58, of Franksville

July 16, 2018 – Franksville, WI – Ellen Elizabeth Ziegert, 58, of Franksville died Saturday, July 13, 2018 at Ruth Hospice House, West Allis, WI. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after fighting a courageous battle against ALS. Ellen was born on September 27, 1959 in West Bend, WI to James and Betty (nee Wilcox) Ziegert.

Ellen is survived by her brother James Ziegert Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK and a sister Mary (Daniel) Spaeth of Franksville, WI. She is further survived by six nieces and one nephew, along with their spouses, great nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins other relatives, many close friends and her beloved cats Clancy and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty, a sister Ann Ziegert and niece Janel Spaeth.

Ellen will always be remembered for her quick wit, love of children, card playing abilities, leadership qualities, positive attitude and her love of cats.

Per Ellen’s wishes there will not be a formal funeral service.

A private Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.

The family of Ellen would like to extend their gratitude to all of the caring staff at Ruth Hospice House for their compassionate care and kindness. We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to Dawn from Synergy Home Care for all the loving care and friendship she gave to Ellen in her home. To Ellen’s close friends, whom she considered family; your help and love for her in her greatest time of need was astounding. Ellen touched the lives of many during her short stay here on earth.

Memorials are preferred in Ellen’s name to the ALS Association, Wisconsin Chapter, 3333 N. Mayfair Rd. Suite #104, Wauwatosa, WI 53222 or to the Pet Vet Animal Hospital, 342 Harrison St. Oak Park, IL 60304.
