Fire damages unoccupied home in Slinger

On the above date at 11:12 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a structure fire at 5566 W. Lake Drive in the Town of West Bend. The caller was an area resident who reported flames coming from the residence which was reported to be an unoccupied seasonal home.

 

The Slinger Fire Department was paged and quickly upgraded the fire to a MABAS call. Fire Departments from Allenton, Hartford, St. Lawrence, and an ambulance from Lifestar Rescue responded.

Upon the arrival of the first deputy on scene at 11:17 a.m. the flames were coming from the east side of the residence on the first floor near where the gas meter enters the residence.

 

The deputy also observed the flames to be centered near a space heater in the living room. Deputies on scene closed the roadway to traffic.

At this time the fire has been extinguished and the Slinger Fire Department has requested a fire investigator from the Sheriff’s Office to assist in the investigation.

 

Contact has been made with the owners of the residence. The residence was not occupied at the time and there were no reported injuries to anyone on scene. At this time there is no damage estimate available and there is no further information being released.
