District Executive Assistant Deb Roensch explained the process and then folded the four names that were on pieces of paper and placed in a white bowl.

School Board Vice President Bart Williams held the bowl aloft as School Board Clerk Therese Sizer drew the names. No candidates chose to be present during the drawing.

The names will be listed on the April 5 ballot in this order: Ken Schmidt, Tiffany Larson, Jenn Donath, Randy Marquardt.

Without editorializing – the importance of the order on the ballot is simply the thought that if someone votes and they may not be familiar with a certain race then voter habit shows people normally pick the top two candidates.

Here’s an article that ran Jan. 27 following a candidate’s forum hosted by Common Sense Citizens.
