West Bend Library closed the rest of the day – will reopen on Tuesday

March 19, 2018 – West Bend, WI – A quick heads up for neighbors in West Bend as the Public Library has posted a note it will be closed the rest of the day. The library posted the note below.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the library will be closing for the day today at 3 p.m.
We apologize for any inconvenience. This means that all library programs are also cancelled this afternoon and evening.

The West Bend Public Library will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19.

Quite a few folks wondered what happened. The Building Inspectors Office said there was a sewer backup and Albiero Plumbing said if the library wanted the issue taken care of now, they would have to shut down all bathroom facilities.

The library agreed to get it done now, so with that they closed the doors.

By code, the building cannot be open if it does not have bathroom facilities.

Good news, there was no damage to any of the materials in the library and all will be back to normal for Tuesday.
