Obit: Richard “Dick” “Richie” Hansen, 63, of Hartford

March 17, 2018 – Hartford, WI – Richard “Dick” “Richie” Hansen, 63, of Hartford, unexpectedly passed away in an accident Thursday, March 15, 2018. Richard was born July 20, 1954 to Roman and Ruth (Hahn) Hansen.

Richard began his lifelong career as an electrician in 1976. He married Louise (Klink) on September 17, 1977. They built their home together on Crooked Road in Hartford where they spent 40 beautiful years together. Richard was a proud and loving father to his three children Jessica (Jeff) Bode, Nicholas(Rachel), and Matthew (Sara). He especially adored his five grandchildren Jacob, Jordan, and Jaxon Bode and Scarlet and Loren Hansen.

He spent many summer mornings on his back-porch mastering solitaire and evenings watching his family play in the yard he so meticulously cared for. He loved the Packers, road trips around Wisconsin with his wife (that usually included a pit stop at a casino to play some slots), Friday night fish fry’s and card games with friends. He never turned down a project and offered his help to anyone in need; sometimes the “project” was just sitting around with an Old Fashioned and enjoying each other’s company.

Richie will forever be remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren and his brothers and sisters, David (Maureen), Janice (Jim) Rettler, Robert (Jane Bamke), Thomas (Carolyn), James (Mary), Mary (Jim) Gutschenritter, Lisa (Bill) Schicker, Kurt (Roxy), Brenda (Dan) Schultz; in-laws, Monica Klink, Daryl (Sandy) Krause, Sharon (Clarence) Feucht, Florette (Richard) Hoebel, Barb (Fran) Ojstrsek, Maggie Falkenstein, Mike Klink, Keith Klink, Carmel Wendorff, Maureen (Ben) Beine, Kevin (Judy Wagner) Klink, Quirin III (Korie) Klink, Greg (Emma) Klink, Ann (Victor) Scarpita, Chuck (Lauren) Klink; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and “the gang.”

Richie was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Quirin Klink; sister, Linda Krause; brothers-in-law, Gary Falkenstein, Gregory Wendorff; and sister-in-law Kaye Hansen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 Highway 175, Hartford on Tuesday, March 20 at 6:00 PM. Visitation for family and friends on Tuesday at the Church from 1:00 PM – 5:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the donor’s choice.
