Obit: Matthew P. Shanovich, 90, of West Bend

Feb. 27, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Matthew P. Shanovich, 90, of West Bend, passed away at his home on Monday, February 26, 2018, with his family at his side.

Matthew was born on September 11, 1927, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Joseph and Clara (Urf) Shanovich. On November 10, 1951, he was united in marriage to Audrey Brendelson. Audrey preceded Matthew in death on January 10, 2017.

Matthew was a jokester and had a good sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh and was great father, wonder grandfather, and he loved his family very much. He was a wonderful caregiver and taught many people how to drive. Matthew was a spiritual man, often times opening up their home for people in need, giving his shirt off of his back for anyone.

Those Matt leaves behind to cherish his memory include four children, Joseph (Vicki) Shanovich, Paul (Lisa) Shanovich, Carol (Dean) Pok and Peter Shanovich; twelve grandchildren, Amy, Lisa, Katie and Matthew are the children of Joseph and Vicki Shanovich, Amanda and Adam, are the children of Paul and Lisa Shanovich, Grace, Jim, Clair, are the children of Carol and Dean Pok, and Hailey, Jake and Spencer, are the children of Peter and Kelly Shanovich; three great grandchildren, Tyler, the son of Lisa Anaya and Annie and Archie Mueller, children of Amy Mueller; a sister-in-law, Arlene Comfort; other relatives and friends.

 

 

 

 

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Matthew was preceded in death by, two brothers, George Shanovich, Michael Shanovich, and a sister, Margaret Sankey.

Funeral services for Matthew will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Kingdom Hall, 6823 Wildwood Road, in West Bend.

Matthew’s family will greet relatives and friends at Kingdom Hall on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m.

The Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Matthew’s arrangements.
