Obit: Remember Arty’s Place in Theresa – Arthur Thompson, 85

Arthur M. Thompson, age 85 of Theresa, Wisconsin found eternal peace on Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus in Milwaukee.

Arthur was born on August 9, 1930 to Edward and Evelyn (nee Thompson) Thompson. He was united in marriage to Harriet B. Kempfer on October 2, 1948 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Ashippun. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on October 2, 1998 and then enjoyed 17 more years of marriage.

Art was a farmer in Hartford until 1969 when he and his wife purchased Arty’s Place in Theresa. He ran Arty’s Place for many years before retiring. He then enjoyed camping and fishing at Blue Top in Fremont. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He especially loved his family and any chance of getting together with them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Harriet, his dear children, Rosanne (Kenneth) Kirchner, Arthur Mark Jr.(Donna) Thompson, Christine (Bud) Zimmel, April Thompson (wife of Ned), Timothy Thompson, Katheryn (Tom) Junger, Gerald Thompson (Jennifer Schultz), proud grandpa to many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him with all their hearts. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, his son Ned Thompson, 3 brothers; Charles, Gerald and Ivan Thompson and his sister Donna Wittig.

Funeral Services for Arthur will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 12 noon at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St. Hartford, WI 53027) with Father Thomas Holtzen officiating.  Family will greet relatives and friends at Shimon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the 12 noon service.

Interment St. Paul Cemetery, Ashippun, WI
