Obit: Alois (Al) M. Stockhausen, 84, of Newburg

 

Jan. 13, 2018 – Newburg, WI – Alois (Al) M. Stockhausen age 84 of Newburg died peacefully at home with his family on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 following a short battle with cancer. He was born July 24, 1933 in West Bend to Aloys and Marion (nee Becker) Stockhausen. On June 19, 1954 he was united in marriage to Barbara A. Bohn at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in Barton.

Al worked with his father at Stockhausen Garage in Newburg from a young age until 1966. He then went to work for Simplicity Mfg. in Port Washington and retired as a maintenance lead in 1996. He enjoyed his retirement traveling with Barbara and spending time with friends and family. Also, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and touring the countryside on his motorcycle.

As a father Al taught and lead by Christian values. He was honest, hardworking, kind and a very gentle soul that prided himself in service of friends and family. He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg, past member of the Newburg Fire Department and the Newburg Sportsman’s Club.

Al is survived by his 7 children: Ann Stockhausen of West Bend, Kathy (Dave) Ostrowski of Milton, John (Brenda) of West Bend, Joel (Patti) of Grafton, James (Linda) of West Bend, Jay (Camie) of Cambridge, IA and Paul (Stephanie) of West Bend and 7 grandchildren: Tony (Amanda), Amanda (fiancé Justin Strobel), Michael, Laura, Katie, Noelle and Abby Stockhausen. Alois was the proud Great Papa of Ava. He is further survived by his sister Janis (Robert) Weyker of Newburg, 2 sisters-in-law: Helen Haumschild of Clearwater, FL and Elaine Brunner of Fredonia, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, parents Aloys and Marion Stockhausen, 3 brothers-in-law: William Bohn, James Haumschild and Howard Brunner, his in-laws: Roman and Marie Bohn and his step-mother-in-law Clara Bohn.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, January 17th from 4:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend and on Thursday, January 18, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. followed by Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery.  Father Kevin Kowalske presiding.

The Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend is serving the family.
