Names released in Dec. 31, 2017 fatality in neighboring Dodge County

 

Jan. 2, 2018 – Dodge Co., WI – On Dec. 31, 2017 at 5:37 p.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a three-vehicle crash that occurred on CTH R near CTH EM., Town of Emmet, Dodge County.

Preliminary investigation showed that a 2000 GMC Jimmy operated by 60-year old Gloria L. Batzler of rural Watertown, WI, was traveling eastbound on CTH R in the westbound lane.

The GMC Jimmy struck a westbound 1994 Ford Ranger head on, operated by 62-year old Curtis C. Wolter of rural Hustisford, east of CTH EM.

A 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer, operated by 53-year old Rachel A. Jeske of Lebanon, WI, was traveling westbound behind the Ford Ranger, and struck both vehicles after the initial collision.

Batzler and Wolter were pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Deputy Medical Examiner.

There were no passengers inside either of those two vehicles.

Jeske’s vehicle had two additional occupants, 55-year old Kelly G. Jeske and 26-year old Christa M. Fletcher, and all received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Aurora Medical Center in Summit for treatment.

Assisting at the scene were the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team, Lebanon Fire Department and EMS, Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office, Watertown Fire Department Paramedics, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain and Dodge County Emergency Response Team (DCERT).
