Power out in Barton area after truck strikes former Bagg End Tavern

 

Dec. 3, 2017 – West Bend, WI – We Energies is reporting nearly 400 people are without power following a single-vehicle accident at 1375 N. Main Street in Barton.

Officials from the West Bend Fire Department said an engine was called to Rally Time Sports Pub at 6:14 p.m. Sunday because of a truck that struck the building.

Authorities said nobody was injured.

The vehicle reportedly hit “an outside wall” and a power pole. The accident caused a power outage and hindered the display at Enchantment in the Park. That event was cancelled for this evening. Enchantment in the Park will next be open on Thursday, Dec. 7.

We Energies crews are working to fix the problem.

Fire crews were on site to clean up fluid from the vehicle following the accident.

 

West Bend Police are reporting:   OWI / Crash / Power Outage, 1373 N Main St.

On Sunday December 3, 2017 at 5:56 p.m., West Bend Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1300 block of N. Main Street.  Investigation revealed a pick-up driven by a 47-year-old Kewaskum man left the roadway striking a WE Energies transformer box and the building at 1373 N Main St.

We Energies is working to restore power.

Due to the extent of the damage, WE Energies is unable to give an estimate as to when power will be restored.

The driver showed signs of intoxication, failed the Standard Field Sobriety Tests, blew a .15 in a PBT and was arrested for OWI.

There were no injuries related to the crash.
