Oct. 11, 2017 – Slinger, WI – The Slinger High School Equestrian Team advances to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Horsemanship Association (WIHA) State Competition which will be held October 27-29 in Madison.
The team of four riders, supported by three team assistants, competed Oct. 7 and 8 in the Division 1 contest held in Jefferson.
Slinger placed second in Division C. Riders competed in various categories including showmanship, equitation, and speed classes.
The team was led by coach Heather Woehrer and team manager Heather Kiefer.
“We could not be more proud of our girls and their horses,” said Woehrer. “They put forth their best effort and persevered through challenging classes. Advancing to the state competition is a well deserved accomplishment.”
