Oct. 9, 2017 – Hartford, WI – Heads up to motorists in Hartford as there is planned construction work this week as underground utility work is completed on E. Lincoln Avenue and S. Main Street.
This will require closing all or parts of the intersection to traffic. The schedule for the works is as follows:
1. Complete the sanitary sewer connection on Monday, Oct. 9. This will require complete closure of the intersection since the existing sanitary sewer is located in the middle of the intersection. This date was chosen since the schools are closed for the students on Monday.
2. Complete the storm sewer connection on Tuesday, Oct. 10. This will require closing at least half of the intersection since the existing storm sewer connection is located on the east half of the roadway. Depending on the conditions, the entire intersection may still need to be closed (this will be determined once excavation begins). There is some additional work required before they get into the intersection.
So, it is anticipated that S. Main Street will not be closed until after school starts in the morning. Morning school traffic should not be interrupted by this work. Afternoon school traffic may be disrupted though, depending on how things progress.
3. Complete the water main connection on Wednesday or Thursday. This work should all take place east of the S. Main Street intersection and traffic on S. Main St. should not be disrupted.
