Obit: Judith Ann Buddenhagen (nee Potter), 73, of West Bend

Sept. 11, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Judith Ann Buddenhagen (nee Potter) of West Bend passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 at the age of 73.

She was born August 24, 1944 in West Bend, Wisconsin to Wilford and Bernice (nee Kocher) Potter.

Judy graduated from West Bend High School in June, 1962 and was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart and best friend Butch (Floyd) Buddenhagen, Jr. on May 13, 1963.

She was an avid gardener, decorator, and candy lover, (mostly butterfly gummies) but her biggest joy was the time she spent with her family.

Judy was her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan and would be in the bleachers cheering them on at their sporting events, plays, dance recitals, graduations, weddings, and everything in between.  She especially loved going to the Farmers’ Market every Saturday, Music on Main every Thursday, cheering on the Packers every Sunday, and any other event that took place in her beloved hometown of West Bend.

Judy was the rock of her family and those that will miss her most are her loving husband of 54 years, Butch; sons, Tim (Shelly) and Chris; daughter, Amy (Tim) Luft; grandchildren, Jordan (Laura), TyAnn, Tenley, Hope (Zach Thornton), Paige, and Ella; brother, Tom Potter; father and mother-in-law, Floyd Sr. and Dorothy; brothers-in-law, Dick (Charlene) and Bob (Mary); and special family friend, Jenny Schoofs.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

A private family service will be held to celebrate her life at Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend.

The family would like to give special thanks to the First Responders and staff at St. Joseph’s Emergency Care in West Bend, and NICU and Hospice Care at Froedtert, Milwaukee for the great care that was provided to Judy and her family.
