June 13, 2017 – Washington Co., WI – Practice rounds for the U.S. Open got underway albeit delayed by the weather a bit.
Many fans are being encouraged to use the shuttle service from the Washington County Fair Park. This is the designated RED lot. Buses start leaving at 5:30 a.m. and they run until the last person is back.
The ride on the coach bus is free and takes about 30 – 35 minutes. The buses leave about every 10 – 15 minutes and they drop you off just outside the Main Gate at Erin Hills.
Parking at Washington County Fair Grounds is free. Motorists should enter at the far north driveway on Highway P. The area is marked and there’s usually a Sheriff’s Deputy or State Patrol at the side of the road to monitor traffic.
Field lights have been brought in to keep the area well lit should you arrive before the sun is up or after dark.
The U.S. Open has rented the entire area.
The grassy section by the West Bend Mutual Silver Lining Amphitheater will be used for parking first followed by the area along Highway P.
Saturday and Sunday are expected to have the most traffic for the shuttle service.
Also note: Parking Lots M and N are closed until further notice; those attending the championship with parking passes for lots M and N should be redirected to the general spectator RED Lot (Washington County Fair Park).
