VIDEO | Cedar Lake Sales in West Bend steps up with donation for a safe swimming season

May 9, 2017 – West Bend, WI – The crew from Cedar Lake Sales & Service in West Bend stepped up Monday with a gift of 8 life jackets that were presented to the West Bend Parks Department.

“No doubt about it, this is definitely going to help the community,” said Cedar Lake Sales co-owner Alan Bell. “We did the free fishing clinic and sponsor the Big Cedar Lake Thursday Night Fishing Club and this just goes hand in hand with those efforts.”

Nicholas Lemke with West Bend Park & Rec accepted the donation. “These will be free to families to check out and if they become really popular Cedar Lake Sales said they would come around with more,” he said.

Tracy Eifert, marketing director with Cedar Lake Sales, came up with the idea.  “My kids aren’t really the best swimmers and having the life jackets in a pool situation would make me feel more comfortable and I’m sure that’s true with any parent,” Eifert said.

The life jackets are a new program for the West Bend Park & Rec Department.

After the story aired Monday it appears more life jackets may be in the works from another organization. Stay tuned!

On a side note: Filling the Regner Park Pond for the season has already begun. Lemke said it’s a slow process and will take several weeks to complete. Lifeguards will then undergo training and the pond should be open for the season starting June 9.
