The West Bend High School Drumline is going to be in the spotlight tonight as the West Bend School Board recognizes the group for being named champions of the Fresh Coast Classic Drumline Competition at UW-Milwaukee.
The WBHS Drumline competed against Riverside High School and the drumline from Milwaukee Rufus King during the November 28, basketball tournament at UW-Milwaukee.
WBHS walked away with the $1,000 top prize.
The board will recognize the drumline during it’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Education Service Center, 735 N. Main St.

At 6 p.m. the board will meet in executive session to “take any such action, if necessary, based on its discussion namely: staff personnel matters.” This is likely the closed-door discussion on the paid administrative leave of teacher Tanya Lohr.
Early word, a petition with 600+ signatures is going to be presented to the board at the regular school board meeting by parent Kim Roemer asking that Lohr be allowed to return to the classroom.
Lohr was placed on paid administrative leave last week following an incident connected with the district’s Galileo testing system.
