Neighbors in Washington County mourn death of former owner of Links Hideaway

April 23, 2017 – Kewaskum, WI – Word traveled fast across Washington County over the weekend about the death of Richard Rosche, the former owner of Links Hideaway in Jackson and Links II in Kewaskum.

Rosche was killed in an accident Friday morning in Illinois.

According to the Rock County medical examiner, Rosche lived in Illinois. However a former co-worker at Bootleggerz Saloon in Kewaskum confirmed Rosche moved there to be closer to family after he closed his taverns in 2014.

One Killed in Accident South of Olney

One person was killed in an accident that occurred 5 miles south of Olney shortly before 9:30am on Friday.

According to a report from the Illinois State Police, Larry W. Pitts was traveling northbound in a semi tractor-trailer on IL Route 130 and attempted to turn left onto County Road 400N. Richard W. Rosche was traveling southbound in a car on IL Route 130 at the same time, resulting in both vehicles colliding in the southbound lane.

The Richland County Coroner pronounced Rosche deceased at the scene of the accident. The accident is under investigation.
