West Bend police make 6 arrests to keep drugs off the streets

1500 block of West Paradise Drive
On Friday, April 7, 2017, at 5:52 p.m., an employee of Walmart, 1515 W. Paradise Dr., called police after observing a man and a woman concealing merchandise and preparing to leave the store without paying for the items. Police responded and took a Slinger woman, 39, into custody as she left the store. The officer recovered stolen property on her person. During a search of the woman and her purse the officer also recovered cocaine and heroin. The woman was charged with Retail Theft, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Heroin. An officer stopped a Waukesha man, 41, as he was attempted to enter his vehicle in the parking lot. The officer recovered stolen merchandise on the man and recovered drug paraphernalia in the man’s car. The man was arrested for Retail Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

West Bend Police Department made the following four arrests for OWI from Thursday, April 6 – Monday, April 10.

1600 Block of South Main Street
On Thursday, April 6, 2017, at 5:24 PM, a citizen reported observing a woman in a parked vehicle ingesting what she believed were illegal drugs. The woman then drove the vehicle to another area in the parking lot. Investigating officers located the vehicle and driver in the parking lot. The officers made contact with the driver and found the woman with a hypodermic needle in her arm. The West Bend woman, 29, failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI – Restricted Controlled Substance – 3rd Offense, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

1900 Block of North Main Street
On Friday, April 7, 2017, at 1:30 AM, a West Bend police officer observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The West Bend woman, 22, failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .214% into a PBT, and was arrested for OWI.

200 Block of West Decorah Road
On Friday, April 7, 2017, at 3:03 PM, a citizen reported a vehicle driving erratic. A West Bend police officer located the vehicle and observed the vehicle swerving in and out of the traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs the driver was under the influence of drugs. The West Bend man, 31, failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI – Restricted Controlled Substance. The man was also charged with Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescription Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after Heroin and other prescription medications that the man did not have a prescriptions for were found in the vehicle.

100 Block of South Main Street
On Monday, April 10, 2017, at 12:04 AM, a West Bend police officer observed a motorcycle operating at a slow speed tip over and crash to the pavement. The officer checked the welfare of the driver and observed signs he was intoxicated. The West Bend man, 38, failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .131 into a PBT, and was arrested for OWI.
