Photo Gallery: Maple Syrup Family Day with the Richfield Historical Society

March 26, 2017 – It was a chilly and damp day on Saturday but that didn’t stop several hundred families from pulling on their boots and holding onto their hoods as they spent some time watching the maple syrup process courtesy the Richfield Historical Society.

It was a rather cozy yet sweaty atmosphere in the Sugar Shack as folks clamored in for the warmth and to see what all the steam was about.  As the docent kept the fire going he explained how it would be “raining inside” if the vent in the roof wasn’t open.

Across the yard under cover of a wood-frame building there were bottles of maple syrup for sale along with cotton candy made from the sugars of the syrup.
