March 23, 2017 – West Bend, WI – West Bend school bus involved in crash – 1200 Block of Schoenhaar Drive
On Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 7:25 a.m., a school bus was west bound on Annie Street when the driver attempted to turn left onto Schoenhaar Drive.
As the driver of the bus attempted the turn he sideswiped a legally parked vehicle on Schoenhaar Drive. The crash caused minor damage to both vehicles.
There were 42 students on the bus, including 23 from Badger Middle School and 19 from Silverbrook Intermediate School.
No one on the bus was injured. All the students were safely transported to their respective schools. Police cited the 60-year-old male driver of the school bus for Improper Left Turn.
OWI – 3rd OFFENSE – 600 Block of Oak Street
On Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 2:01 a.m., a West Bend police officer observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The 28-year-old Hubertus man failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .179%in to a PBT, and was arrested for OWI-3rd Offense.
OWI – 2400 Block of Country Creek Circle
On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 1:21 p.m., a citizen reported a vehicle driving erratically, swerving in and out of the traffic lane, and almost striking other vehicles. West Bend police officers located the vehicle and driver. The officers observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The 43-year-old West Bend man failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .179% in to a PBT, and was arrested for OWI.
