March 10, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Retail theft/operate auto under the influence of controlled substance – 1515 W. Paradise Dr. Walmart
On Thursday March 9, 2017 at 6:50 p.m., West Bend Police were called to Walmart, 1515 W. Paradise Dr., after two females stole merchandise from the store and fled in a vehicle. A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle and turned custody of a 46-year-old female and 13-year-old female, both from Kewaskum, over to West Bend Officers. Both females were arrested for Retail Theft. The 46 year old was determined to be impaired by prescription medication and was arrested for Felony Operating an Auto While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance with a Passenger Under 16 Years of Age. The 46 year old was also on Probation with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and placed in the Washington County Jail for violation of her probation. The teen was released to her father.
Hit and run collision causing injury – N. 18th Ave at W. Washington St.
On Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 7:10 p.m., West Bend Police a traffic crash On W. Washington St at N. 18th Ave. Two vehicles eastbound on W. Washington St. were stopped for a red light at N. 18th Ave. when they were struck from behind by another eastbound vehicle. The striking vehicle then fled the scene southbound on N. 18th Ave. The vehicle was located a block away unoccupied in a parking lot on N. 18th Ave. Officers located the driver, a 20-year-old female from West Bend, in the 2100 Block of Chestnut St. The woman stated her brakes did not work when she collided with the other two vehicles and she left the collision scene because she did not have a valid license and did not have auto insurance. The 20 year old was arrested for Operating without a Valid Driver’s License, No Auto Insurance and Hit and Run Causing Injury. A driver of one of the victim vehicles reported a minor injury and was treated at the scene by West Bend Fire and Rescue personnel.
