Feb. 27, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Shirley M. Steck, 86, of West Bend, was called home on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend.
She was born on May 22, 1930 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Walter and Iva (nee Brown) Hass and on June 9, 1951, was united in marriage to Alvin Steck in Milwaukee.
Shirley will fondly be remembered for the love she had for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Those Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory include two sons, William “Bill” (Beth) Steck of Port Washington and Timothy “Tim” (Lisa) Steck of Theresa; four grandchildren, Rebecca “Becky”, Andrew “Andy” (Carol), Nicholaus “Nic” and Eric Steck; two great-grandchildren, Jakob and Olivia Steck; a brother, Robert “Bob” Hass, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Gordan Hass and a sister-in-law, Audrey Hass.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 4886 Highway 175 in Hartford. Rev Davies Edassery will officiate and burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery in Milwaukee.
The Steck family will greet relatives and friends at Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral 1315 W. Washington St. in West Bend on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
