Obit: Arnold L. Vogel, 85, of West Bend. Arnie was a talented cornet player for the Milwaukee Symphonic Orchestra.

Feb. 8, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Arnold L. Vogel, age 85 years, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Cottages in West Bend.  Arnold was born on August 14, 1931 in Plymouth to Arno and Christine (nee Gisch) Vogel.  He graduated from Kiel High School, class of 1949.  Arnold married Beverly J. (nee Henschel) on January 12, 1952.

Arnold is survived by the love of his life for 65 years, Beverly June Vogel, and his loving family Pamela (Michael) Glynn, Renee (Alan) Antonicci and Perry (Diane) Vogel; his Grandchildren, Stacey (Brian) Gullickson, Aaron Hentz (Fiancee Linae Marquardt), Mario Antonicci (Special Friend Courtney Malchow), Mindi Antonicci (Fiance James Smith) and Mason Vogel; His Great-Grandchildren, Joshua Gullickson (Special Friend Kymber Wheiland), Jacob Gullickson (Special Friend Alyssa Crass) and Zoey Hentz; Also Step-Grandchildren Sheila (Frederic) Glynn-Criqui and Jonathan Glynn; and Step-Great Grandchildren, Sebastien Criqui and Ella Criqui.  He is also survived by special nieces and nephews.  Preceding Arnold in death were his parents, Arno and Christine Vogel, his Brother, Lester Vogel and his Sister, Bernice Bartelt.

For years Arnold was a talented cornet player at the Kiel Municipal Band and went on to receive a scholarship from Louisiana State University.  He later played at the Milwaukee Symphonic Orchestra. Then continuing his love of music that he enjoyed so much, he became the Choir Director for Calvary Memorial United Church of Christ.  He put forth and shared his talents, and shared with others his love for music in that capacity for several years.  He was blessed with many friendships from his years there, and had a special close bond with Reverend Donald F. Koehn and his wife, Joyce Koehn.  He later became the Choir Director at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church and thoroughly enjoyed continuing his musical journey doing that for several years as well, putting together and creating special performances for the church and its members.

Arnold (Arnie-as many knew him), early in his life, was the Founder of Lakeland Title Services, which originally opened in Port Washington, WI on December 1, 1966.  On April 1, 1974 he expanded and opened another office in West Bend, WI.  Beverly and all three of their children worked along Arnie’s side with running Lakeland Title and to assist him in the success of the Company that he founded.  He was known for his honesty, integrity and friendliness by all of his customers.  Through their business ties, Arnie and Beverly gained many lasting friends with a lot of their business associations that continued to be friendships that lasted throughout their lifetime.
For many years Arnie enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships with fellow Rotarians at the Slinger-Allenton Rotary Club.  He was a Past- President, and was honored to become a Paul Harris Award Recipient during his membership with the Club.

Arnold and Beverly enjoyed many years at their second home at Ft. Myers Beach, Florida and have many friends and fond memories there.  They also treasured their travels to England, Germany, visiting many States in the U.S., and their cruises to Hawaii, Canada, The Mississippi River, and to the Caribbean.

He enjoyed deer hunting with his Brother-in-law, Harold Henschel, and also his hunting trips out West with Rev. Donald F. Koehn.

Most of all, he loved his cherished family, and will be missed by all of them.  He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, and taught his family the true meaning of Faith, Hope, Love and Honor.

Arnold was a member of the Kiel Municipal Band, and The Milwaukee Symphonic Orchestra.  Brother Arnold was a 32nd Degree Mason at the West Bend Masonic Lodge No. 138, West Bend, WI and also affiliated with the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory of the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Milwaukee.  He was a Red Cross Driver for a few years upon his retirement. Past President of Slinger-Allenton Rotary Club, an Associate Member of the Washington Board of Realtors.

Arnold is currently a member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, and formerly an associate member of Ft. Myers Beach Chapel by the Sea.  He also loved and attended Chapel services at the Cottages and at Cedar Ridge and joined in singing the songs that they sang-always ending with his own special Amen.

A Funeral Service will be at 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Fifth Avenue Methodist Church (323 S. 5th Ave., West Bend) with Rev. Clarissa Martinelli presiding. Visitation will be at the CHURCH ONLY on Saturday, February 11 from 10:00 am until time of service (12:30pm).  Memorials may be given to The Cottages at Cedar Run, Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, or Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County.

The family would like to acknowledge, with their deep gratitude, the special care he received from his caregiver/friend, Eugen Bardas and for his many special visits and friendship. Also to thank The Cottages Staff for their loving, compassionate and considerate care, as well as The Hospice Team of the Cedar Community for all their concern and special care.    Also a special thank you to Dr. Robert D. Gibson, Dr. Lawrence P. Sullivan and Dr. Laurence A. Gill for their expertise, kindness and care throughout the years.  Also, for the caring and faith bestowed upon the family by Reverend Wes Falk, Reverend Kathryn Kuhn, Reverend Clarissa Martinelli and Reverend Donald F. Koehn.
