Alcohol a factor in accident where car strikes semi in neighboring Dodge County

 

 

Jan. 28, 2017 – Dodge Co., WI – On Saturday, Jan. 28 at 3:24am, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of CTH A and CTH W in the Township of Oak Grove, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Preliminary investigation shows a 24-year-old man from Horicon was operating a 1996 Toyota sedan East on CTH W.  A Watertown man, 57, was driving a 2009 Kenworth semi tractor pulling an empty fuel tank trailer North on CTH A. The Toyota failed to stop for the stop sign, striking the rear wheels of the semi.

The driver of the Toyota and a 24-year-old male passenger from Juneau suffered serious injuries in the crash.   The driver of the semi was not injured and there were no other occupants in either vehicle.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Beaver Dam Hospital and the passenger was transported to Oconomowoc Hospital. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

CTH A was closed for more almost 4 hours while the crash was being investigated and the scene cleared. The names of the involved people will not be released until Monday, Jan. 30, 2017.

Assisting at the scene was:  Juneau Fire Department and Juneau EMS, Beaver Dam EMS, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Dodge County Highway Department.
