Joint meeting set to review engineering study for Highway 60 reliever route

Dec. 21, 2016 – West Bend, WI –  A joint meeting is set for Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7 a.m. in the Ziegler Building at the Washington County Fairgrounds where details will be presented regarding the Highway 60 Reliever Route 30 percent engineering study.
The meeting will be strictly between the Executive Committee and the Public Works Committee. No public comment will be taken at that time.

During a Public Works Committee meeting Wednesday morning Washington County Highway Commissioner Scott Schmidt reported preliminary findings were presented on Dec. 6 for direction on the study.

It is expected the 30 percent engineering study will be completed by Jan. 17, 2017 and provided in the packet for the Jan. 24, 2017 meeting.

The economic impact study is now projected to be completed in mid-February.

Another joint Executive Committee and Public Works Committee meeting will then be held where information will be presented on the Economic Impact Study.

A public feedback meeting may be held after the February review of the joint economic impact study.

Washington County requested a study after concerns were expressed about an increase in traffic volume on State Highway 60 in Hartford.

The Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission is conducting a feasibility study of a northern reliever route to STH 60 between the western limits of the City of Hartford and I41.
