Dec. 15, 2016 – West Bend, WI – Movie goers in the West Bend area will be sitting in the lap of luxury at the West Bend Cinema as the new theatre seating has arrived.
Crews began installing the reclining seats this week. Cinema manager Ricky Gerber the seats are going in the first four theatres. “We’ll have about 46 seats in this theatre and a similar number in this next theatre,” he said walking across the hall.
Because of the size of the reclining seats there will be less volume, seating wise, per theatre.
The remodel of the cinema has been proceeding in phases. Last March the owners of the cinema began a massive overhaul of the interior which included plumbers and cleaning crews. The entire theatre received a fresh coat of paint, new landscaping, and signs.
A new concession area was unveiled with a new soda machines, digital menu boards, and flat panel monitors.
Theatre owners, Boppa LLC, also changed the name of the venue from the Paradise Theatre to the West Bend Cinema.
Gerber said he was excited about the new seats and he said customers should “give them a chance” because the reclining gears may be a little stiff to start. He said the seating should loosen up in the coming weeks.
