Lomira man, 38, in custody on possession of child pornography charges | By Dodge County Sheriff

January 15, 2025 Lomira, Wi – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office along with other local law enforcement agencies have been working together on recent investigations in the last couple of months in the Village of Lomira, Wisconsin. Some cases are still under investigation, but we strive to stay transparent with our community members to let them know what is occurring. Many investigations that our law enforcement professionals handle can take weeks or months to determine if probable cause exists and if criminal charges are warranted once the investigation is complete.

One of the cases in question occurred on December 9, 2024, when the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Waupun Police Department in a search warrant in the 1100 block of Main Street Lomira, Wisconsin.

After this search warrant, Joshua J.E Rogge, a 38-year-old male from Lomira, Wisconsin was placed under arrest and booked into the Dodge County Jail on charges requested by the Waupun Police Department. Joshua Rogge has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Cause Child 13-18 to View Sexual Activity.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s also executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street in the Village of Lomira on January 14, 2025. This search warrant caused some social media posts in the Lomira area where community members believed there were federal agencies involved.

There were no federal agencies involved as speculated on some social media posts. The law enforcement personnel on the scene were members of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

This investigation is still ongoing, and there is no further information that can released at this time. Additionally, there is no threat to the community regarding this event.

Sheriff Dale Schmidt would like to remind the community that the sheriff’s office works hard to keep all persons in Dodge County safe and hold those who violate the community trust and break the law will be held accountable.

With the sheriff’s office also being under contract with the Village of Lomira for police services, it is also important to keep Lomira residents informed that high-level investigations are being conducted within the village by both our sheriff’s office deputies contracted by the village and the criminal investigative division of the sheriff’s office as evidenced by these cases.

As a reminder, sheriff’s office detectives are not part of the contracted service but are a part of the sheriff’s office service to the county as a whole. The coordination between Lomira law enforcement and our sheriff’s office investigators has never been more coordinated and seamless than it is today. We are proud of our staff and the high level of service they provide to our community.
