Name released of West Bend man, 26, killed in 2 vehicle crash in Fond du Lac Co., Wi | By Sgt. Andrew Kohlmann

December 15, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – Authorities in Fond du Lac have released the name of the West Bend, WI, man killed in a 2-vehicle crash Friday night in the Town of Auburn. Please keep the families in your prayers during this difficult time.

A West Bend man was killed and a teenager from Campbellsport injured following a two vehicle crash Friday, December 13, 2024, at approximately 9:46 p.m., on HWY 45 near CTH Y in the Township of Auburn, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.

When Deputies arrived on scene EMS and Fire/Rescue personal from the Campbellsport and Kewaskum Ambulances and Fire Departments were assessing the two patients for injuries.

One female was pinned inside her vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. One male was removed from his vehicle and was determined to be pulseless and not breathing.

Life-saving measures were attempted however the male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female suffered serious injuries and was flown to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee via Flight for Life Helicopter.

Initial investigation indicates the pickup truck driven by the male was traveling southbound on Highway 45 and an SUV driven by the female was traveling northbound on HWY 45. The pick-up truck crossed the centerline and collided with the SUV head on. The pick-up truck rolled multiple times and came to rest on its side.

The male was identified as Jacob Reich from West Bend age 26. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The female was identified as 16-year-old female from Campbellsport. She was wearing a seatbelt.

Also assisting at the scene was an Ambulance from the City of Fond du Lac. Wisconsin State Patrol and the Fond du Lac County Highway Department assisted in shutting down the highway. HWY 45 was closed for approximately 5 hours while the crash was reconstructed by members of the Fond du Lac Sheriffs Office’s Crash Reconstruction Team.

Speed and alcohol are contributing factors for this crash.
