December 2, 2024 – Slinger, Wi – Norman Eugene Toll, affectionately known as Norm to his friends and family, peacefully left this world on November 23, 2024, at the age of 89.
Norm was the loving husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee Tilt) Toll for 63 years.
Together, they raised a family that was Norm’s pride and joy: sons Mark (Cherry) Toll and Kevin Toll, and daughters Pam (Greg) Antholt and Lynda (Mike) Strowig and blessed with a legacy of 6 grandchildren: Steven (Katelin) Toll, Joshua Toll, Derek & Kya Antholt, and Brandin (late) & Autumn Strowig and 2 great-grandchildren: Lillian & James Joseph Toll, who also brought a sparkle to his eye and an even wider smile to his face.
Norman is proceeded in death by his loving parents Edwin and Dora (Zimmermann) Toll, 5 supportive siblings: Orlin Toll, Bill (Lorna) Toll, Marcella (Earl) Vande Zande, Margie (Glen) Vande Zande, and Ed (MaryAnn) Toll, grandson Brandin Strowig, nephew Ronald Vande Zande and niece Charlene Reil.
Norm inherited a strong sense of duty and bravely served his country as a Private First Class in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War specializing in communications.
Norm’s work ethic was unparalleled. For over 30 years, he dedicated himself to Heiser Ford as an Auto Body Shop Manager, earning respect and being the only employee to have the “ear” of Sam Scaffidi.
He and Jackie were also former business partners for over a decade at Fox Valley Metrology Callibration Services, proudly co-founded by their eldest son, Mark, and partners Gerry Roge, Martin Johnson and Brian Gliszinski.
A sports enthusiast through and through, Norm’s love for baseball was evident in his many years both as a player known to many as “Stormin’ Norman” and a coach with his lifetime record catch of meeting Jackie at a game.
His passion for the outdoors was just as important to him. After purchasing land near Eagle River, at the encouragement of Jackie’s late brother, Jim (Ann) Tilt, they built a beautiful vacation home on South Twin Lake. Many of Norms’ most treasured memories were created there. He enjoyed hosting and being surrounded by his family and close friends at the annual deer hunting tradition as well as countless peaceful hours of fishing, earning him the title of the “Crappie King.”
He loved watching old Western Movies and actively followed current political events as a true patriot.
He lived a life of integrity & service, and loved deeply: his work, his hobbies, but most of all, his entire family including nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will miss his generous spirit and hearty laughter!
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church (799 St. Paul Drive Slinger, Wi 53086) on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. Interment at Union Cemetery following with military honors.
The family invites you to join them for a luncheon at church and encourages you to share your fond memories with them.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor are preferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Slinger, or a veteran organization such as Wounded Warriors.
