1 person killed in 2-vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County | By Sgt. Victor Schneider

December 1, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., Wi – On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at approximately 5:43 p.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 151 at CTH TC in the Township of Lamartine. Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene, along with personnel from the Town of Lamartine Fire Department and Lamartine First Responders.

Upon investigation, it was determined an eastbound vehicle on CTH TC failed yield to a southbound vehicle on STH 151. The southbound vehicle collided with the side of the eastbound vehicle, forcing both vehicles into the median. The eastbound vehicle, occupied by one individual, was driven by a 34-year-old female from Brandon, Wisconsin, who was not wearing a seatbelt. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The southbound vehicle, occupied by five individuals, was driven by a 41-year-old man from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured, He was subsequently released from the scene.

The other four occupants, all wearing their seatbelts, suffered minor injuries, were evaluated and released at the scene. Failure to stop at stop sign and failure to yield to cross-traffic are believed to be the contributing factors to the incident.

STH 151 southbound at CTH TC remained closed for approximately four hours to facilitate emergency response operations and investigation into the crash by the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team.

Assisting agencies included, State Patrol, Town of Lamartine Fire Department, Lamartine First Responders, North Fond du Lac Fire Department, North Fond du Lac Ambulance, City of Fond du Lac Ambulance, and Fond du Lac County Highway Department.

At this time, the names of the individuals involved in the crash are not being released as the investigation is ongoing by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
