A little more than an hour later Stolz finished first in the 1500m with a time of 1:43.94.

“He was very tired in the 1500 but still won,” said coach Bob Corby. “He is truly special.”

Stolz currently sits atop the World Cup standings.

Corby said Friday morning Stolz has two more races before returning home. “We will return to the World Cup schedule January 22, 2025 in Calgary. Then Milwaukee January 30 – February 2, 2025 and after that it is Poland, then Holland for the last World Cup.

“March 10 – 12, 2025, is the World Championships in Hammer, Norway. That’s the site of the 1994 Olympics where Dan Jansen won his gold medal in the 1000m,” said Corby.

Neighbors will have a chance to see Stolz skate at home when the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, WI, hosts the World Cup on January 31 – February 2, 2025.
