October 25, 2024 – Germantown, WI – An update to a late-breaking story tonight regarding a large police presence at Germantown High School. The letter below is from Germantown Superintendent Dr. Chris Reuter.
Below is a story that ran earlier this evening starting at 7 p.m.
Police and Washington County Sheriff’s are currently sweeping the building after reports were called in regarding a person at Germantown High School.
There is no confirmation regarding earlier reports on social media that indicated there may be a person with a weapon. As of 7:13 p.m. that is unconfirmed.
This is a working story and more information will be posted when details are available.
On a history note: It was October 23, 2023 when a man with a gun climbed on the roof of Kennedy Middle School and was acting erratically.
Buildings were locked down and shots were exchanged between the subject and police. Â The subject eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Police Chief Mike Snow said at the time investigators believed that was an isolated incident in 2023.
