Nov. 28, 2016 – Jackson, WI – A 27-year-old Menomonee Falls woman remained in custody Monday morning after being arrested early Friday morning for allegedly fleeing an officer and operating while intoxicated.

At 12:45 a.m. a Jackson police officer observed a Chevrolet K1500 pickup truck swerve violently to the right and then spin 360 degrees on southbound Highway 45 near Highway 60.

The driver then proceeded south and exited at Highway 60. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued west and accelerated to about 77 mph, swerving constantly.

Slinger police successfully deployed traffic spikes east of the Highway C roundabout, deflating both front tires, but the woman continued driving on the rims.

Near I41, the driver crossed to the opposite shoulder, struck the curb, and then drove west in the eastbound side of Highway 60.

The woman then reentered the westbound side and finally stopped in the entrance to the Kwik Trip convenience store at the intersection of Highway 164. The pursuit lasted about six minutes and covered 3.4 miles.

The driver initially provided a false name and birth date because she thought there was a warrant for her arrest.

After failing field sobriety tests, she was cited for operating while under the influence of intoxicants-first offense; operating while suspended; and failure to keep vehicle under control.

Charges of felony fleeing and obstructing an officer were referred to the Washington County District Attorney.
